The real story about at home dye.

The first step in coloring your hair is to determine the color you want. This can be done by visiting a professional or by purchasing a box of hair dye from your local drugstore. The second step is mixing the ingredients together, which will vary depending on what type of hair dye you are using and exactly how dark/light you want your hair to be. The third step involves applying the mixture onto your head, waiting for it to work its magic and then washing it out! However there are some things that should be considered before taking this leap into self-coloring:

Does it smell? If so how bad? What kind of smell does it have? How long does its smell last? Does it make my eyes water when I apply this stuff on my head (or skin)? Do I feel like I’m going to sneeze when using this product? What will happen if something goes wrong with this at home hair dye job (like I get dizzy or faint from inhaling too much chemicals)? Will my friends think less of me if they see these results because everyone knows people who do their own hair never look good anyways…

It’s actually illegal to mix chemical colors.

Did you know it’s actually illegal to mix chemical hair color at home?

If you think about it, this makes sense.

Hair color is classified as a drug by the FDA, and because of this, it isn’t something that anyone can just make up in their kitchens.

It takes a trained professional to mix the right ingredients together in order to achieve the desired result (a vibrant shade of red or brunette). The last thing we want is for our clients’ heads to catch fire while they’re waiting for their appointment!

DYI hair dye does not allow for face shape, skin tone and hair texture.

You may be wondering why these things are important to consider when coloring your hair. After all, it’s just dye! Well, the truth is that when you color your hair at home, it’s possible that you’ll end up with an unflattering shade or tone. When you go to a salon, the professional stylist will take into account your face shape and skin tone in addition to how much grey hair you have and what look you’re going for. They’ll recommend a shade that works best with your face shape (whether round or square) as well as one that matches the natural color of your own skin best. Additionally, she’ll suggest a subtle style like balayage if there are several shades of grey within your locks due to age—it looks more natural than trying to dye over them all at once!

Box dyes have to use one base color.

In order to affordably produce a product and sell it for a reasonable price, companies have to use a lot of chemicals. Some of these chemicals cause damage to your hair and can make your color fade faster.

Box dyes are made with one base color, which means the company has to come up with an average shade that can look good on many different people. This means you might get something that’s too light or too dark for your complexion—or maybe not even close enough to what you want!

But at a salon, they can mix custom colors using real paintbrushes. This allows them to match exactly what you’re looking for so it won’t fade right away (and if it does fade quickly—like reds do—they’ll often reapply free of charge).

You don’t know what you are getting.

  • You don’t know what you are getting.

Box dye comes in a box, so it’s pretty much guaranteed that the color will not match your skin tone, hair texture or face shape. The only way to solve this problem is by going to a salon and asking for help finding a shade that will work best with your specific needs. But what if you want something bright red and your stylist tells you no? Or what if they tell you “no problem!” but then leave some weird blue spots in your hair? It happens all the time at home coloring sessions—and even though it hasn’t happened yet for me personally (knock on wood), I know plenty of friends who have had bad experiences at home coloring sessions because they didn’t have anyone there to help them choose the right shade or show them how to use the product effectively!

Your stylist is trained in color. She or he will be able to help you achieve the best results.

Another reason to go to a stylist is that they have been trained in color. You don’t have to pay for their education, and you’ll get better results!

There are other benefits as well. For example, you don’t have to clean up after yourself if you dye your hair at home (which can be an expensive process). It’s also easier: no measuring cups or mixing bowls required! Lastly, when you go to a salon for a consultation before dying your hair—something not offered by boxes—your stylist will make sure the color matches your natural hair color and skin tone.

There are many reasons why it’s better, safer and easier to have your hair colored professionally by a trained stylist at a salon!

When it comes to coloring your hair, the outcome will be better. A trained stylist can use the best products available for your specific hair type – whether that’s blonde or brunette – and create a color that looks great on you. They will also be able to help you maintain that color between visits by recommending shampoos and conditioners as well as explaining how often you need professional touch-ups to keep looking fresh and fabulous.

It is also likely that somewhere along the line someone has told us not to do something because it was dangerous or too complicated; this should not apply here! It is easy for anyone (even children) who follow simple instructions: mix water with liquid dye according to package directions, put on gloves and then apply the mixture directly onto our head where we want our new hue (this may take a little practice!). If we do everything correctly there should be no worry about how long it takes until our desired look appears before us because each person’s natural processes differ slightly depending on age factors such as hormones levels which affect hair growth rate density etc.. Plus these results cannot compare with those achieved through professional training techniques such as bleaching followed by toner application process using precise amounts applied directly onto scalp area only avoiding contact with other parts of body surface due t
