Does Your Hair Look Too Grey? How To Get Rid of Gray Hair
Are you tired of your grey hair?
If you have grey hair, chances are that you have thought about getting rid of it. Well, hopefully this blog will give you some insight into how to get rid of grey hair and how to make sure your color lasts when doing so.
If you’re one of the many people who don’t like their silver locks, then here’s what I recommend:
- Find a good salon that specializes in coloring your hair. It’s always best if they can do it right there at the salon! This way, the color won’t fade as quickly and will look more natural.
- Make sure to ask for an appointment with someone who knows what they’re doing. Some salons might have someone new working there who doesn’t know much about coloring hair or just isn’t good at it yet (this happens from time to time).
Covering up grey hairs.
It’s not a good idea to cover your grey hair with a permanent dye. The chemicals can be bad for your scalp and harmful to your hair. If you want to cover up the grey, there are natural alternatives: henna dye and a shampoo that makes grey hairs look darker.
If you don’t want to do either of those things, there are other options! You could try some temporary dyes like Manic Panic or Punky Colour, which wash out after a few shampoos (and often fade on their own). These dyes come in fun colors like pink or purple – perfect if you’re looking for something different than just brown!
Henna dye.
While you can use henna dye to cover up gray hair, this is a temporary fix. The color will wash out after about a week.
However, if you love the look of your hair with henna on it and want something more permanent, there are some other options available for making your gray hair look beautiful.
Shampoo.
If you want to go with a natural approach, there are shampoos that can help you get rid of gray hair. These shampoos usually come in the form of a special blend of herbs and oils, such as rosemary and sage, jojoba oil and wheat germ oil. These ingredients work together to naturally balance your hair color so that it looks more natural, vibrant and healthy.
If you’re going for something more traditional, there are also plenty of products on the market designed specifically for this purpose.
Other options.
If you want to hide your gray hair but don’t want to use a permanent color, there are a few other options.
- Wear a hat. Hats are great for hiding gray hair and protecting the skin from sun damage.
- Use extensions or weaves. If you’re going for an updo, try adding extensions to cover up any white hairs that show above your part line.
- Use camouflage spray or makeup foundation to cover up grays in between coloring appointments without damaging/re-coloring your hair every few weeks (which is bad for your scalp health). This may be a more preferable solution than using permanent colors because it doesn’t involve using chemicals on your head as often—and it’s also easier than maintaining two separate looks (one with colored roots and one without).
There are many options for covering up grey hair, without damaging the hair in the process!
If you have grey hair, there are many options for covering it up. You can choose from a wide range of shades, depending on the tone of your natural hair and the look you want to achieve.
If you’re thinking about covering your gray with a dye, be aware that this process is not as simple as just applying color to your hair. It’s important to remember that even though the product says it fades away after two weeks or ten washes (and maybe it does), what actually happens when you dye your hair is that each strand becomes damaged by chemicals during this process and over time will break off if not properly cared for. That being said, if keeping a solid color throughout all seasons is important to you and doesn’t take too much maintenance or cost too much money then by all means go ahead!
Some people prefer going with their natural roots instead of trying something new because we live in such an image driven society where everyone needs instant gratification these days—no one wants any grey grays showing through those gorgeous highlights anymore than necessary…I get it–but personally I’d rather just embrace my grey head rather than try coloring them out every couple months which gets expensive both financially AND physically because then they don’t grow out evenly so I’ll spend more time combing through them than styling them which makes me sad 🙁
