How To Make Your Hair Look Special

Wash Hair Properly.

Shampooing your hair is the first step to making it look special. You should use a shampoo and conditioner that are both right for your hair type, and try not to wash every day. If you can’t go an extra day without washing, at least try to apply products that will give your hair some volume or shine after you leave the shower!

When you’re about to wash your hair, make sure you start by combing through any tangles that might be present—this will help prevent breakage and keeps everything looking neat and tidy before heading into the shower. Afterward, be sure not to rub too hard when drying off with a towel; instead pat dry gently so as not to damage any sensitive skin there may be on the back of your neck (which could lead to infection).

Choose the right shampoo and conditioner.

Shampoos and conditioners are the backbone of any hair regimen. A good shampoo can help detangle, hydrate and cleanse your strands while a good conditioner will moisturize, add shine and prevent breakage. Just like with makeup products, there are endless options on the market—so it’s important to choose one that works for you!

First things first: if you have oily hair (like myself), opt for sulfate-free shampoos. Sulfates cause buildup on your scalp which leads to oiliness throughout the day. They also strip away natural oils from your scalp without properly replenishing them afterwards—so unless you have time for an oil treatment every few days, stay away from these cleansers at all costs! On the other hand…dry/damaged hair types should opt for moisturizing formulas containing natural oils such as coconut or argan oil since they lack protein which strengthens strands from root-to-tip (aka prevents breakage).

Use leave-in conditioner.

Use leave-in conditioner. If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you probably already know that I’m a big fan of leave-in conditioners. They make your hair look instantly hydrated and healthy, which is great if you want to go for the “messy bun” look (which is hot right now). Applying one after washing your hair gives it an extra boost of protection against damage caused by heat styling tools like curling irons and straighteners. You can even use it on towel dried hair before blow drying or air drying!

Here are some tips:

  • Use on damp hair as soon as possible after washing it
  • Use spray bottles instead of pouring from the bottle into your hand because this way there won’t be any waste (just be sure not to get any water on your hands)
  • Apply about two pumps per section depending on how long/thick/hardy your strands are

Comb the right way.

To get your hair looking special, you have to start with the right tools. Your comb is one of the most important ones. Use it in such a way that you’re not just combing through your roots and out, but also from the ends to the roots. This will help you keep snarls from forming at either end of your hair and give it some added shine by brushing through all those little hairs along your length that tend to get lost under tangles.

You should never use a fine-toothed comb on wet or damp hair—it can cause breakage and split ends if there’s too much pressure put on them while they’re wet! Instead, use a wide tooth comb when your locks are wet so that you don’t end up pulling any out as well as causing damage by tugging too hard on a brush while they’re still damp. The same rules apply when drying: don’t rub vigorously with a towel (this will only create friction), but instead gently pat away excess moisture until there isn’t any more left to absorb into yours strands’ outer layer of protection—that’s when its time for another round with said wide tooth combs!

Avoid using hot styling tools all of the time.

The next time you’re going to use a hot styling tool, try this trick: spray your hair with heat protection spray before applying the tool. You can also help your hair dry faster by using a blow dryer on low heat and moving it around in circular motions.

If you have long hair and want to wear it down, use the curling iron on the lowest setting possible so it doesn’t get too hot. If your hair is short or medium length, try using an old-fashioned curling iron (the kind that looks like two small barrels attached together). These work better for shorter styles because they produce more consistent curls than regular flat irons do.

Get frequent trims.

If you want to be able to play with your hair without worrying about it looking too messy, getting frequent trims is a good idea. It’s important to keep your hair healthy so that it can grow as much as it possibly can. If you don’t get frequent trims then your strands will become brittle and break easily, which means that they’ll look bad when styled or brushed. Even if you’re growing out a cut, regular cuts still need to happen as often as possible because this keeps the ends healthy and prevents them from splitting off into pieces!

You should probably go for a trim every six weeks or so unless there’s something more serious going on (like heavy damage). This frequency might seem like a lot but think about how much time has passed since your last trim: one month? Two months? Three months? Now multiply by 3 and that’s how long it would take before another trim was necessary if things weren’t done regularly enough…that’s not even taking into account growth either!

Normally these services aren’t cheap but luckily we live in an age where almost anyone can afford them thanks to online sources such as Groupon (which usually has deals going on all year round), Living Social etcetera etcetera..

Take proper care of your hair, it is easier than you think

This is a matter of making the right choices. The most important thing is to pay attention to what you put on your head. If you have an oily scalp (and who doesn’t?), try using a shampoo with salicylic acid in it. It will help control oil production and break down dead skin cells so your scalp can breathe better.

A good quality conditioner goes a long way: use daily for best results! You don’t need anything fancy here—in fact, there are plenty of affordable options out there that work just fine at keeping your hair hydrated and smooth (we recommend using water first so that any product left after rinsing off can soak into the strands). And while we’re at it: avoid shampoos with harsh chemicals like sulfates because they strip out natural oils that protect against damage caused by sun exposure or heat styling tools like curling irons/flat irons/straighteners etcetera.”
