What It Looks Like

Plum hair is a darker, deeper shade of red. It’s similar to a burgundy wine color and has a dark red tint. A plum hair color can be achieved with a combination of red and purple pigments, but it’s closer to the former than the latter.

In general, you want your plum hair color to look like this:

How to Get It

There are two ways to get this look:

  • You can go to a salon for a professional application, or
  • You can do it yourself at home. If you choose the latter option, make sure that you buy a quality dye product and follow all of the instructions carefully.

If you decide to have your hair professionally dyed, then I suggest finding yourself a good salon with experienced stylists who know what they’re doing. Be sure to tell them exactly what color you want so they can match it up perfectly!

How to Maintain It

To maintain your plum hair color, you should:

  • Use purple shampoo. Purple shampoos are designed to neutralize brassy and yellow tones from your hair. They’re available at most drugstores, or you can make your own by mixing one part conditioner with five parts cool water (water that is too hot will damage your hair). The vinegar in the mixture will also help remove any build-up on your scalp and keep it clean. You should use this treatment twice a week to keep color fresh and vibrant.
  • Apply conditioner after washing with purple shampoo if possible; otherwise, just apply conditioner at least once per week (using more if needed). Conditioning helps seal in moisture and reduces frizziness while preventing split ends from forming over time.
  • Use a heat protectant before styling since heat tends to fade out color faster than other causes like washing/conditioning etcetera.* Avoid washing too often since this can strip away natural oils from skin which may cause irritation or dryness over time; try skipping days between washes instead! This could even extend the life span of plum dyed tresses because less frequent washing means less friction against strands which reduces breakage risk over time.”

You need to dye your hair a plum color for Halloween.

If you’re going to be dressing up for Halloween, you need to dye your hair a plum color. From the purple-haired ghouls of the world to the sultry femme fatales and everything in between, there is a look for every shade of plum. If you’re thinking about dying your hair and making it as dark as possible or as light as possible, then this guide is for you!
