Henna powder is the base for henna paste. It is often considered a more natural alternative to chemical-based hair dyes and other coloring products. The powder comes in different shades of red, brown and orange depending on the type of henna used in its preparation.

Most commercial henna powders are made from dried leaves of Lawsonia Inermis shrubs cultivated in southern Asia and Africa, with India being one of the largest producers at around 70% of world output.
