Why I Never Wear a Hat
The best colors for brunettes.
If you’ve got dark hair, it’s better to go lighter. If you have light hair, it’s better to go darker. Don’t be afraid to experiment with colors that are outside of the box—in fact, this is when the fun really begins! Just don’t make drastic changes too often or else your hair will become damaged and dull over time.
The best colors for blondes.
If you have blonde hair, there’s some good news and some bad news. The good news is that you are one of the most popular colors in the world. You can be found on everyone from your favorite pop star to your favorite Hollywood actress (and even—if you’re lucky—your favorite best friend). The bad news? Well… there’s also some bad news.
The biggest problem with blondes is that their hair tends to be on the dry side, so they need extra moisture in order to avoid damage and breakage. This means that if you want your color looking its best, it’s important not just for the color but for everything else about it too. One way I like keeping my blondes moisturized without having them get greasy or weighed down by products is using dry shampoo before blow drying and styling my locks!
The best colors for redheads.
Redheads, like all shades of hair, have different nuances. Red is the most common hair color in humans and can be found in every culture around the world.
The thing that makes redheads unique is their natural sensitivity to temperature changes and their ability to heal faster than most people. They also have a higher tolerance for pain.
There are many great colors that complement red hair but it’s important to choose one that matches your skin tone, eye color and personality as well. Because redheads are often mistaken for blonds or brunettes (and vice versa), choosing a specific shade can be difficult when you’re shopping at a store or browsing through photos on Instagram or Pinterest. Here are some tips:
Why I wear my hair short, and why that matters when choosing color.
I wear my hair short for the same reason I don’t wear hats. It’s easier to take care of, and I like having fun with my style.
When you have long hair, your options are more limited: you have longer pieces of hair that can be styled in any number of ways from braids to ponytails. The longer your hair is, the more styles you can try out.
If you have short hair, however, things get a little bit complicated—and exciting! You’ll need some styling products if you want to try out something new; but with enough patience (and maybe even some patience) there are hundreds of different ways that short-haired people can style their own look every day.
Why more and more women are choosing to go gray in their 30s and 40s.
The trend toward gray hair—particularly among women over 40—is a reflection of changing attitudes about aging. As a society, we are taking pride in the fact that we are aging, and women are choosing to dye their hair gray for reasons other than vanity.
The fashion industry is also embracing the trend: In 2018, Elle magazine named its “Woman of the Year” winner Tavi Gevinson (the founder of Rookie Mag) because she has worn her natural hair color since age 14. And actress Emma Stone was named People’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2019 after revealing she has been dyeing her platinum blonde hair brown for years.
Other celebrities who have gone gray include Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman (both with elegant silver streaks), along with Lena Dunham and Kristen Stewart (more dramatic). And while it’s true that some celebrities go gray simply to stay relevant at work or on screen—thereby keeping up with trends—many stars choose this look as a way to save time and money spent maintaining their locks while also giving back to the environment by reducing waste from disposable products like hair dyes.”
There are plenty of options for hair color, whether you’re a blonde, redhead or brunette.
The first thing to consider when choosing a hair color is your current hair type. If you have dark brown hair, for example, then it makes no sense to choose a white or platinum blonde. However, if you’re an albino and dying your hair black will make it look like you’ve been eating nothing but kale chips and ice cream all day long. The point here is not just to look good, but to feel confident in yourself as well; this will help improve your overall mood and self-esteem.
If we look at the color wheel (which I’ll explain later), we can see that there are three basic categories of colors: primary colors (red, blue and yellow), secondary colors (orange, green and violet) and tertiary colors (browns). The primary colors are made by mixing together two of the others at equal ratios; for example red+yellow=orange or blue+red=purple etcetera…
