Things Only Ombre Hair Colours Would Understand

You have no idea what your natural hair colour is

If you’ve been having ombre hair for a long time, there is a good chance that you don’t know what your natural hair colour is.

You see, when your roots start growing out and are around the same length as the rest of your hair, it becomes impossible to tell what your natural colour is just by looking at them. You need to do a strand test. But even then, sometimes it can be hard! This happened with me recently and I had to go get my stylist to tell me which shade was closest to my natural one.

You are forever debating whether to go lighter or darker

You are forever debating whether to go lighter or darker. You know that the colour will fade out over time and you might be tempted to go a little bit lighter or darker if you have the time and money. If you do decide to go lighter or darker, remember that it is important not to damage your hair by bleaching it too much in one session.

The last time you had your roots done was so long ago it doesn’t even count

You’ve been avoiding the salon for so long that you don’t even remember what your natural hair colour is. You think it’s probably some kind of blonde, but you can’t be sure. You haven’t seen any evidence of roots in a while, so it’s hard to say exactly how much lighter your hair has become over time.

But hey—the last time you had your roots done was so long ago it doesn’t even count! We’re talking years here—a whole lifetime in ombre years. Your locks grow so slowly that on average, only one inch grows per month (give or take). Or maybe that’s just me? Anyway: no need to worry about having them colored or trimmed every six weeks when they grow like this! Plus I don’t get many split ends because my locks are already pretty damaged from all those years living under fluorescent lights in our office building

And when you’ve left it long enough, people think you’ve dyed your hair black!

I love my ombre hair. But sometimes, it’s nice to leave the dye in for an extra day or two so that people assume I’m going through a midlife crisis and just don’t care about my appearance anymore.

But then as you go about your day and people ask you where you got your hair done, it gets awkward when you reveal that actually, underneath all those black roots sits still-blonde ends!#ENDWRITE

Your highlights aren’t ‘just highlights’ – they’re a lifestyle choice!

As you can see, ombre hair is more than just a look. It’s a lifestyle choice!

Ombre styles come in many forms and can be done with many colours, but they all have the same thing in common: they’re not just highlights. An ombre style can be subtle or dramatic, depending on your personal taste (and how much time you want to spend on your hair each week). If you love to switch up your look every few months and are looking for a way to do that without having to dye all of your hair at once, then this could be the perfect option for you!

You don’t know anyone else who has your exact shade of sun-bleached blonde

You can’t figure out what your natural hair colour is anymore. If you’re like me, you have no idea what your natural hair colour is anymore. I’ve been blonde my whole life and it’s so hard to tell now! I don’t know what kind of blonde I would be if my ombre wasn’t there to give me that extra boost of coolness in summer.

You have no idea what other people think of your sun-bleached blonde either. You may not even know how many people actually love  your ombre and want to get it done themselves! Some people may just presume that you’ve dyed your hair because they can see the roots coming through or something like that, but most likely they’ll love it and ask where you got it done (and then probably feel bad if they haven’t gotten an appointment yet).

You’ve got a lot of grey hairs and you won’t be getting rid of them any time soon!

You’ve got a lot of grey hairs and you won’t be getting rid of them any time soon!

We understand that it’s not what you want to hear, but try to embrace the grey. If nothing else, it makes you look older than your age (which is always a bonus). We know it might not seem like much, but having grey hair actually makes you wiser—according to science!

You could dye your hair back to its original colour or just go with the flow; there are plenty of ways to incorporate this new feature into your style. Just remember that as much as we’d love for everyone’s hair colouring woes to disappear overnight, greys aren’t going anywhere anytime soon either.

Your family and friends still think that highlights are just for special occasions – i.e. weddings and big birthdays

It’s no secret that an ombre hairstyle takes some effort to upkeep. Your hairdresser will have to spend time applying the dye, making sure it’s even and faded at the ends, and then toning it down so that your colour doesn’t look too unnatural or cause damage to your hair.

In fact, when I first decided to go for an ombre colour myself about three years ago, my mum was very worried about me damaging my hair by bleaching it multiple times per year (which is necessary for maintaining this kind of look). But now that she sees how much healthier my locks are compared to before we started dying them together at home every few months (when I got bored with how quickly they grew back), she’s a convert!

You don’t know the first thing about properly maintaining your high-maintenance hair colour but hey, it looks great so there’s no need to worry right? Wrong! Check out these tips on how to care for ombre hair like a pro.

  • You get bored with the same old hair colour and feel like making a change.
  • Your friends and family might start to notice that your hair colour is fading or looking dull.
  • The good news? It’s easy to fix! Just follow these simple steps below:
  • Use a purple shampoo once a week (or more) to keep your hair fresh and vibrant! If you don’t want to head out and buy one, there are plenty of ways to make an at-home version for yourself using ingredients from your kitchen cupboards. This blog post does a great job explaining how.
  • Deep condition your locks every few weeks by applying heat through hot water or steam, then wrapping sections of damp hair around large bobby pins until they’re completely soaked through with conditioner before rinsing them out (I find this works best).
  • Use heat protectant before styling your tresses with any heated appliances like flat irons or curling wands so they don’t get damaged while drying (and make sure not use products that contain alcohol since this will strip away any existing colour)! Here’s my favorite: https://www

Being an ombre lady is a hard life but someone’s gotta do it!

Ombre is not just a hair colour, it’s a lifestyle choice.

If you’re thinking of getting ombre hair, be aware that it will take up all your time and money. You’ll need to invest in more than just a simple dye job; you’ll also need to commit yourself to regular salon visits, proper care and maintenance (which includes moisturizing), and monthly touch-ups at the salon. Ombre requires dedication—and if you’re ready to make this commitment then go right ahead! But if not: don’t worry about it! There are plenty of other options out there for those who aren’t willing or able to put in as much work as an ombre style requires!
