Properly Prepare Your Beard.

  • Wash your beard with shampoo. The first step to dying your beard is to thoroughly wash it with shampoo and conditioner to remove any oil, dirt and debris from the hair follicles. This will help ensure that the dye gets into all of the hair strands, which will make for a more even application when you apply the dye later on in this process.
  • Rinse your beard thoroughly with lukewarm water until no soap residue remains on your skin or in between hairs of your beard after rinsing off all soap bubbles from lather created during washing (this may take several rinses).
  • -4.-5.-6., etc., proceed as above for steps 2 through 6:

Prepare Your Beard Dye.

  • If you’re going to dye your beard, the first thing you need to do is prepare your product.
  • Beard dyes come in many different forms and colors. The most common types are:
  • moustache dye – this type of beard dye provides coverage for only the moustache area and must be reapplied after each use
  • beard wax – this type of beard dye is a thick paste that can be applied in sections or all at once (recommended for those who want a natural look) and lasts longer than other forms because it sets on the hair rather than being absorbed into it

Apply the Hair Dye.

The next step is to apply the hair dye.

Apply the dye evenly on your beard. Don’t worry if it gets on your skin or skin around your beard, this is why we wear gloves for this step! It may also stain skin so please be careful where you apply it and do not leave it on longer than directed in the instructions. Do not apply it to your mustache as this will only cause more damage than good when trying to cover up gray hairs from coming through later on down the road!

  • Rinse out with cold water to remove excess product and get rid of dirt (or whatever else was in your beard).
  • Dry your beard with a towel or blow dryer depending on how damaged it is from the dye process (or if there’s just too much dye on it). If you need more help removing excess dye in this step, try using some olive oil as well—it has been shown to remove stains from clothes and skin very effectively so give it a shot!
