How To Tone Your Hair
1. Get Purple Toner
If you want to tone your hair, the first thing that you have to do is get a purple toner. You can find these at any local beauty supply store. To find out which one would be best for your specific needs and lifestyle, there are a few things that you need to look for:
- Is it going to be easy on my budget?
- How much does it cost? The more expensive it is, the better quality of product I can expect from this company and their products.
- Does this company have many positive reviews about how good of a product they make?
2. Apply the toner
Applying the toner is very straightforward. First, you will want to section your hair off (you can do this with clips or bobby pins). Then take the comb and apply the toner evenly throughout your hair until it’s soaked in. After that, simply wait for about 15 minutes before rinsing out with cold water and shampooing. You can leave it on for up to 30 minutes if desired, but no longer than that because prolonged contact between chemicals and strands of hair will burn them off—yikes!
If after washing away all traces of your dye job you find yourself unhappy with how much blonde was removed from your locks, don’t fret! Just reapply another coat of toner after waiting for an hour or two and allow it to set again before rinsing again with cold water followed by some shampooing action.
3. Wash out the toner
- Wash out the toner
It’s important to wash out the toner with warm water and a mild shampoo. This will remove any excess chemical build-up that may be causing your hair to feel dry or frizzy. You also want to use a conditioner that’s specifically designed for color treated hair so that your locks are soft and shiny!
4. Use purple shampoo
It’s time to use purple shampoo. There are two ways to go about this, depending on how blonde your hair is. If you have very blonde highlights or all-over lightened hair, then go ahead and use it every day in place of regular shampoo for at least 2 weeks. You should see some results after that time period due to the pigmentation properties of purple shampoo (they’re meant to help cancel out yellow/orange tones). If your hair isn’t quite as light, then try using it once or twice a week instead while still following up with regular shampoos afterward.
If you don’t want to invest in an entire bottle of purple shampoo right off the bat (or if they’re not available where you live), there are plenty of other options out there—just make sure that whatever product you choose has violet pigments rather than red ones!
Toning your hair is not hard at all, and the end result is worth it!
If you’re looking for a way to easily tone your hair without having to visit a salon or pay someone else to do it, then this is the article for you. We’ll go over how and why you should use purple toner, how to get started with it, and how often you should apply it.
When it comes down to it all, there are three ways in which purple toner can be used: as an alternative method of coloring your hair; as part of another color treatment process (like highlights); or on its own. If you’re trying any sort of dye job for the first time ever (or even if not), we recommend giving our guide on choosing between different shades a read first so that none of them look mismatched when put together!
