Autumn/Winter 2017/18 hair trends
- Ombre: The ombre look is one of the most popular and sought after styles in the world of haircare. This hair colour trend involves lightening your base colour gradually, so it looks as though you have been out in the sun for weeks on end. The ombre effect can be achieved through a number of techniques ranging from balayage to colour tattoos, but all result in a flawless blend between roots and tips that will have you looking like you just walked off an international runway!
- Blonde: There’s no denying it—blonde is back! If you haven’t already jumped onto this bandwagon, then now’s the time to get onboard before everyone else does! With Pantone announcing ‘Ultra Violet’ as its colour of 2018, we predict that blonde shades such as platinum or white gold will be big news this autumn/winter season too

Autumn & Winter 2017/18 Hair Colour Trends
The latest hair colour trends for Autumn Winter 2017/18 have been revealed, with the hottest colours for this season coming in the form of rich burgundies and coppers. If you’re thinking about going darker for the winter months, or want to go lighter for summer, we’ve got you covered.
Copper & Gold
If you haven’t tried it before, now’s the time to give copper and gold shades a go. We’ve chosen some of our favourite products to help you achieve the perfect look in no time at all!
Choose your shade carefully: Copper and gold shades can be tricky to get right, so we recommend choosing one that suits your hair colouring. If you have dark hair, try something lighter like honey or caramel; if your locks are light, opt for subtle hints of red with strawberry blonde tones.
For best results: For optimal coverage and long-lasting results, we recommend using a semi-permanent colourant (such as L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise Colour Save Colour Rinse) on pre-lightened strands with 20 volume developer applied at room temperature. You can also mix two different shades together to create unique hues, such as light brown mixed with dark red for a rich copper sheen or bright yellow blonde mixed with pale blue grey for beautiful highlights throughout!
Naturally Cool
If you have cool skin tones, you tend to have blue or pink undertones. Cool looks are usually trendy because they’re so in right now. This means that if you have a cool skin tone, it’s likely that you will be able to pull off most of these trends without any problem.
Cool hair colours can be ashy blonde, black or dark brown hair with grey eyes/darker skin tones and black hair with green eyes/lighter skin tones. If your natural hair colour is light brown or black but with blue eyes then this is also considered as a cool tone because of how close the undertones are together on the colour wheel (blue being next door neighbours with green). However if both your natural hair colour is dark brown or black and your eye colour has no hints of greys in them then this would still work for a cool look too!

- Cultured buns. A classic style for any season, the cultured bun is a great way to show off your hair accessories. Add a bow or other accent and you’re set to go!
- Braided ponytails. This is another great option if you want something simple but elegant. You can even add some detail by weaving in some beads or adding flowers to give it an extra special touch!
- Wavy curls with bangs are a surefire winner this time of year: they look clean and modern without being too serious or formal. If you have naturally curly hair, this will be easy to achieve—just make sure not to overuse curling iron or straightener products when styling so that they stay healthy and full of body throughout the season.*

The Ponytail
The ponytail is a classic hairstyle in which the hair is gathered and secured at the back of the head with a hair tie, clip, or similar device. It allows for many variations of length and volume, as well as different ways to style your hair.
There are many different kinds of ponytails:
- The traditional or classic ponytail has no layers and can be worn loose or with some bangs framing your face. It’s best for casual events like going to work or school since it’s not too dressy but still looks cute enough to make you stand out from everyone else around you (especially if they’re wearing their hair down). It also works well on long-haired girls who want their strands out of their faces while they’re doing something active like running around outside playing soccer with friends! How to Choose the Right Shade of Red Hair Colour for Your Skin Tone
If you want to invest in a new red hair colour, it’s important to know that there are many different shades of red available. The best way to determine which shade will suit your skin tone is by looking at your complexion and seeing which undertone it has.
Your skin tone helps determine what kind of red hair colour suits you best—whether cool, neutral, warm or golden. Don’t worry if all this sounds complicated! We’ll break it down for you below:
- If you have fair skin with pink undertones (very fair), choose a bright orange-toned red or strawberry blonde shade. This will give your face more contrast while still complementing your natural features.
- If you have fair skin with yellow undertones (fair), choose golden or caramel colours instead of those that lean towards orange tones like burgundy or dark brown hues do because they can look muddy on lighter complexions.
- If your complexion has olive undertones (olive), try using warm tones such as chocolate browns or chestnut browns since these colours enhance the warmth already present in this type of skintone without looking unnatural when applied correctly.”
With celebrity hair trends going from super-dark to ultra-light in the blink of an eye, it can be difficult to keep track of what’s hot and what’s not.
I’ve got a few tips to help you keep up with the latest hair trends.
First, stay ahead of the curve. As soon as a new look hits the big screen or lands on social media, it’s time to start thinking about how you’d adapt it for yourself. Think about who your favourite celebrities are; if they’re always experimenting with new colours and cuts then maybe there’s something in their looks that would work for you too!
Second, ask your stylist for advice! A good hairdresser will be able to take your current colouring into account when recommending highlights and lowlights—and remember: don’t be afraid to try something new! No matter how wrong it feels at first, trust me—there’s nothing worse than regretting not going for what makes your heart sing (and head spin).
