Branching out? Here’s how to get the right colour for your beard
Choose your shade
Choosing the right shade for your beard can be tricky. However, we can help make it easier for you!
Here are some tips to choosing the right shade:
- Consider how warm or cool your skin tone is. If your skin is darker, you’ll want to go with a cooler color like Navy Blue or Midnight Blue. If your skin is fairer, warmer colors like Redwood and Butterscotch would look good on you. Try out different shades of brown depending on what kind of look you’re going for!
- In addition to considering what color compliments your skin tone and complexion, consider where in the spectrum between red (warmer) and violet (colder) each individual pigment falls within its name itself as well – “taupe” means grey while “mauve” means purple so keep this mind when deciding which one will work best!
Choose your formula
Your decision on formula is the first of many that you’re going to make. You should choose a product that will work for your needs, but also one that is easy to use, proven to work and has been tested by a professional.
There are many beard colouring products on the market today and it can be easy for someone who isn’t familiar with them to get confused about which one is right for them.
Choose your application method
Once you’ve chosen the right colour for your beard, it’s time to apply it. You can use a few different methods to do this:
- A spray-on colour. Spray-on beard colours are great because they give you an even finish and don’t require any mixing or power tools. The downside is that they tend to be expensive, so if money is tight this might not be the best option for you.
- A cream from a tub (or pot). Creams are cheap and easy to apply, but they can get messy if you don’t have the right tools or technique down pat. If possible, we recommend doing some research on how to use these products before starting your project!
- Hair dye applied with a brush or comb (also known as ‘painting your beard’). This method gives excellent results if done correctly; however it requires more skill than most people have when it comes time for application!
How to get the right colour for your beard
In order to get the right colour for your beard, you’ll need to choose your shade, formula and application method.
Choosing the right shade is important because it will determine how dark or light your facial hair appears. For example, if you have a light skin tone and want to dye a beard that’s already black but has some grey hairs in it, then choosing a super dark shade would probably look unnatural on you because the contrast between your skin and hair colour is too great. On the other hand if you have dark skin then using a light coloured dye will make it appear even darker than it does naturally – this may not be what you want either!
Choosing which formula works best for your needs depends on several factors: how much time do I have available? How much money am I willing to spend? Do I prefer natural ingredients or synthetics? How much product am I comfortable with putting near my face? Once again this process can become more complicated depending on what type of application method one prefers (oils/lotions vs sprays).
