Love the Lioness, natural and ageless
Going gray doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting old.
You might be surprised to learn that you can go from your natural hair color to gray hair at any age. In fact, the average age of women turning gray is 35 years old. You may have some questions about this process so we’re here to help answer them for you!
First, let’s start with what determines your hair color and whether it’s genetic or not. Your body produces pigment called melanin that creates the color of your skin, eyes, and hair (among other things). The amount of melanin in each strand dictates its hue—darker-haired individuals have more melanin than lighter-haired people do. As we get older, our bodies produce less melanin which results in graying hairs over time.[1]
Other factors that impact how fast or slow a person grays include stress level[2] and diet; some people find their natural greying process speeds up significantly when they’re under a lot of pressure or if they’re eating unhealthy foods like lots of sugar.[3][4]
You don’t have to color your hair to look young.

When I was younger, I would sometimes get people telling me that gray hair made me look older than my age. While this is often true, there are many ways you can embrace your natural texture and not feel like you’re aging yourself prematurely. As a matter of fact, some might say the best thing about gray hair is the fact that it gives you an opportunity to embrace who you are as a person – even if that means looking younger than what society deems appropriate for someone with your age!
You can still rock gray hair and look amazing:
If you want to show off your gracefully aged self by going for a short cut or dye job, great! But if it’s not right for you, don’t worry; there are other options out there too! Some women opt for coloring their entire head while others just leave small patches of white at their temples or throughout close cuts (this allows them to keep their length without feeling like they’re giving up style). What matters most is whether or not these changes reflect who they really want themselves — and ultimately provide them with confidence in their appearance as well as peace-of-mind regarding how others perceive them.”
Natural looking gray hair is in style.
You can embrace your gray hair and still look youthful. Look at celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, who has been gray for over a decade now. Gray hair has always been in style for certain subcultures and regions of the world. You can even see what the trend is now by looking at the natural hair color of models on the runway or other fashion icons who have embraced their grays publicly.
A little gray can make a big impact on your appearance.
Gray hair can make you look younger than you really are, and it’s not just because of the gray hairs themselves. Gray hair is ageless in that it doesn’t have a specific age attached to it. If a woman has long, thick silver strands that are perfectly groomed and styled, she can still look as young as her 20-something daughter when she steps out with this natural color.
People who dye their hair often feel like they have something to prove by keeping up with fashion trends or what’s considered “in” at any given moment. But if you choose gray instead of coloring your hair—and keep it healthy—you won’t need to worry about how many times per week you go into your salon or salon chair (and spend money).
Gray can also make us look more sophisticated and elegant than we might otherwise appear if we were wearing brightly colored tresses all over our head! It adds a touch of mystery to an otherwise youthful appearance due to its mysterious nature: who knows where this came from? Did someone else dye it? Was there some sort of accident during travel overseas? We don’t know—which means anyone having conversations with us may wonder too!
Embracing gray hair can be a way of owning your age.
The lioness is a powerful symbol of femininity, strength and beauty.
What does it mean to be a silver fox? The term “silver fox” refers to an older gentleman who has retained his natural hair color. But it can also describe anyone who remains proudly youthful and vibrant despite their age.
It’s important to look your best at any age—but especially as you get older! For example, if you have gray hair, there are lots of ways that you can embrace your natural beauty:
- Use conditioner regularly in order to prevent breakage or damage from styling products like gels or mousses which may contain chemicals that can dry out your hair over time;
- Get regular trims every six weeks so that split ends aren’t hanging down past the rest (and potentially showing up on top) when they grow out;
You can age gracefully, and look good doing it, by embracing your natural hair color.

There are many ways to embrace your natural hair. You don’t have to go gray in order to look good with white or grey hair; you can dye it if you’re feeling adventurous (and have some extra cash). But even if you choose not to dye your grey roots or add color over the entire length of your locks, there are still plenty of ways that embracing naturalistic aging looks great on any age group:
- If you want a more youthful appearance: Go for an at-home dye job that enhances the color of the base underneath instead of trying anything drastic like going platinum blonde or blue-green.
- For those who already have grey roots showing but still want their hair full of life: Try growing out those roots before going for a change by letting them grow out and then trimming them short again once they’ve reached about three inches. This will give a soft transition from dark browns/blonds into grays without making people think “Oh my god, did she just try dying her hair?!”
