15 Loves Of My Life
My husband
My husband is an amazing human being. He’s always there for me, even when I’m having a bad day. He works hard and has a great job that allows us to live comfortably. He’s also really good at fixing things around the house and can make anything look new again!
Also, he’s always there for me when I need him. On top of doing all those great things, he makes sure that I know how much he loves me every single day by just being himself. He radiates warmth and kindness through his whole being—and boy oh boy do I love him!
My kids
When asked to list the loves of my life, it would be a daunting task to decide between them. Luckily, I’ve found that there are many different types of love.
One of those very important loves is my children; they are precious and they make me laugh every day. They have been with me through some very difficult times in our lives and have shown us what true love really looks like. My husband always says that he wouldn’t change having them for anything because he knows how much joy they bring into our lives but sometimes I wonder if this saying is true when you think about all the sleepless nights and endless diaper changes!
I always thought that having kids would be easy but now that I am a mom myself, I realize how hard it can be at times! When our first child was born, we were living overseas which meant hours spent feeding him every few hours around the clock while trying not being too exhausted to function properly at work during the day…and then when we moved back home 2 years ago with our second baby boy who was born prematurely due to complications during pregnancy? Well let’s just say those first few months weren’t exactly easy on any level – but worth every minute!
My dog
- How long have you had your dog?
- Is your dog a boy or a girl?
- How much do you love your dog?
- What type of dog is it? (e.g., poodle, labrador)
- What’s the name of your pup?
My cat
My cat is a male tabby with an orange coat and a white belly. I got him as an adult in 2010, so he was already two years old at the time. His name is Tigger, which is fitting because he hops around like he’s on pogo sticks all day long! He’s so playful and energetic; it’s hard not to smile when you’re around him. When we first adopted him, I thought he’d be like any other cat: mostly affectionate but also pretty independent most of the time. Boy was I wrong! He has his own personality—he loves attention from people (especially kids) and will follow you wherever you go just so that he can be near you as much as possible! If there were ever a big bag of chips lying around somewhere in my house, Tigger would find it and walk right into it until all its contents were gone…then look up at me expectantly while licking his chops with satisfaction!
Pizza
Pizza is a wonderful food. It’s cheap, easy to make and fun. Plus it’s delicious! I’m not sure if there’s anything better than pizza, but maybe it depends on your personal tastes. Personally, I love pizza and am always looking for new ways to make it even better by adding different toppings or making different sauces that go well with the crust.
Tacos
One of the things that makes a taco the best is the shell. It can be hard to get right, but when you do, it’s magical. I love street tacos because they are usually made with love (and love is what makes a good taco). And don’t forget the guacamole!
Chocolate chip cookies
Chocolate chip cookies are the best.
They’re a comfort food for me, and I love their versatility. You can eat them straight from the oven with a glass of milk, or you can let them cool and then dip them in melted chocolate and allow that to harden. Of course, you can also just eat them plain (or with a scoop of ice cream). And don’t forget about the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream! That stuff is heavenly!
So many options when it comes to our favorite treat!
Books
Books are a great way to escape reality, and if you’re not exactly into reading books I would recommend checking out audiobooks. Audiobooks are a fun way to get lost in a great story while driving or doing chores around the house. If you want to start with something new and exciting, try listening to one of my favorite authors: Terry Pratchett. He has written many books that I love including Mort, Strata, and The Wee Free Men (a series).
Another amazing author is Diana Wynne Jones who wrote Howl’s Moving Castle and Dark Lord of Derkholm (two standalone novels).
Little fuzzy socks that I can never buy enough of. (These ones in particular.)
It’s impossible to resist the allure of fuzzy socks. They’re a great gift idea for anyone on your list, and they’re practically impossible to find in stores. But if you do manage to track one down, it’s hard not to buy two or three pairs because they are just so darn cute!
These particular socks have been my go-to for many years now, as I am absolutely obsessed with them. If you’re looking for something cozy and warm but want something that doesn’t make you look like an old lady when wearing it with pants (because let’s face it: fuzzy socks aren’t exactly the most stylish accessory), these are the perfect choice. They come in tons of different colors so there’s something for everyone!
A good massage chair. (I’m in one right now, actually.)

- A nice pair of sweatpants.
Netflix-ing my evenings away. (Who else is excited for Gilmore Girls??)
Netflix-ing my evenings away. (Who else is excited for Gilmore Girls??)
Netflix is the best thing that ever happened to me and my social life. Seriously, I used to be a hermit but now I have so much more free time because I don’t have cable or any other streaming service besides Netflix. This means that I have no excuse not to hang out with friends or watch Gilmore Girls reruns in HD on my big screen TV!
I don’t know what people do when they’re not Netflix-ing their evenings away, but it sounds boring as hell.
Home cooked meals. Especially those that involve the crock pot or baking things. If there’s a breakfast casserole involved, even better.
Home cooked meals were a big part of my childhood, and I really think they’re a great way to spend time with your family. Breakfast casseroles are one of my favorites because you can make them the night before and just throw them in the oven when you get up for school or work. They also make for delicious leftovers (or lunch sandwiches). If there’s a dish where things cook in their own liquid, like lasagna or chicken pot pie, even better!
Friends and family who are always there when I need them. Even when I’m having a melt down because my life is falling apart, they’re still there. (And they still love me.) And they’re still happy to talk to me when I call them. 🙂

There’s nothing more comforting than knowing that the people closest to you have your back and will be there for you no matter what happens.
There are so many great things in this world, it’s hard to narrow down just 15 of them!
I think that many of us tend to focus on the negative and forget how many great things are in this world. It’s easy to get caught up in our daily lives, but if you take a step back and look at everything you have, it’s pretty amazing!
In order for me to be happy and maintain a positive attitude, I need to remember that “the glass is half full” not only when it comes to my life but also when it comes to other people’s lives as well. Even if something goes wrong or makes us angry or sad for some reason, there are always going to be other things happening around us making us happy (or at least attempting).
These little moments may seem insignificant at first glance; but really…they all add up over time.
