The first thing to consider is your skin tone. If you have pale or dark skin, then you should opt for reds and browns instead of blonde shades. If you have light skin with freckles or moles sticking out, stick with cool tones like blue-greens and purples rather than warm ones like oranges and yellows.
The second thing is the length and type of your hair: short haircuts will require a totally different color than long ones (and vice versa). The third thing is your natural hair color – if it’s already dark then there’s no point in adding anything more! Fourthly: what kind of look do want? Do want highlights only? Or do they need some lowlights too? Fifthly: if high maintenance isn’t really up to snuff then perhaps stick away from all those foils because let’s face it – nobody wants their roots showing halfway through October when all their friends were going out for Halloween parties…
